Each day we wake up to the dawn of a new day, one of new beginnings. How we approach each day certainly matters. Whether thought provoking, motivating, or inspiring, something sets the tone for the day.
This morning it’s a quote I came across from football coaching legend, Vince Lombardi about winning and habits. I read it over and over again. It immediately stuck with me. I didn’t want to lose my train of thought, so I created a graphic which I’ve shared below. I want to remember it and do so in a way to align it with it moving forward, fast movement, acceleration…
This process typically ignites ideas that then race around in my head. This morning it feels like several are popping out front and center one right after another, akin to lottery balls when the winning numbers are drawn for Power Ball or Mega Millions.
A thought comes to mind. Is this how million dollar ideas are born? How about million dollar dreams?
Such is the entrepreneurial mindset. One that many of us are blessed with, and cursed with just the same.
Another quote comes to mind. This one by Steve Jobs…
“Here’s to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes … the ones who see things differently — they’re not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. … You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can’t do is ignore them because they change things. … They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.”
I realize the entrepreneurial mindset is not just a set of skills or a business plan, but it’s an attitude, a way of thinking and a way of living. It’s about taking risks, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. It’s about being innovative, creative and always looking for ways to improve.
Entrepreneurial thinking is a mindset that anyone can adopt, regardless of their background, education or experience. It’s about having the courage to pursue your dreams, even if they seem impossible or impractical. It’s about being passionate about your ideas, and being willing to put in the hard work to make them a reality.
At its core, the entrepreneurial mindset is about having a vision and being able to see beyond the present moment. It’s about thinking outside the box and being open to new ideas and opportunities. It’s about being resilient and adaptable, and always being willing to pivot and change course when necessary.
One of the key characteristics of the entrepreneurial mindset is a willingness to take risks. Entrepreneurs are not afraid to fail, and they understand that failure is an essential part of the learning process. They are willing to take calculated risks and make bold moves, even when the outcome is uncertain.
Another important aspect of the entrepreneurial mindset is the ability to think critically and solve problems. Entrepreneurs are constantly faced with challenges and obstacles, and they must be able to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to overcome these obstacles.
Entrepreneurial thinking also involves being proactive and taking initiative. Instead of waiting for opportunities to come to them, entrepreneurs go out and create their own opportunities. They are always on the lookout for new ideas and ways to improve, and they are willing to put in the hard work to make things happen.
You see, the entrepreneurial mindset is about more than just starting a business or making money. It’s about having a passion for innovation and a drive to make a difference in the world. It’s about being willing to take risks, think critically, and always be open to new opportunities.
So, whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur or simply looking to adopt a more entrepreneurial mindset in your personal or professional life, remember to always think big, stay focused, and never be afraid to take a chance.
